Abstract

In the past decade, the neutron-response of CR-39 dosimeters has been investigated several times using different etching processes and materials from different manufacturers. In spite of the fact that the data have been gathered using different batches, stored and aged under different conditions, the neutron-response has resulted highly consistent. By contrast, the detector background has shown lack of reproducibility not only from batch to batch but also from sheet to sheet within the same batch. © 1994.
