The European Network on Amorphous-Silicon Device Technology (aSiNet) is a Thematic Network financed by the European Commission under the Growth Programme of the 5th Framework Programme. The consortium includes 29 groups from 12 European countries. Some of the partners are groups from universities or research centres with a large experience in a-Si. Other participants are industrial companies either already manufacturing a-Si-based devices or interested in a-Si technology for new products. All applications of thin-silicon are present in the network scope and activities. The main actions are: annual workshops, a web site (www.asi-net.net), the Thin-Silicon Newsletter, visits of scientists, exchange of students, and thematic meetings producing Strategy Reports on the different applications of a-Si. The network is open to the participation of any group or company.
