Classical overbarrier model to compute charge exchange and ionization between ions and one-optical-electron atoms

A classical overbarrier model (OBM) for single charge exchange and ionization between ions and atoms is presented. The accuracy of this model is tested against four cases. Results are discussed as good, excellent, moderate and poor.
