Closed loop control of reversal parameter in RFX-mod

Abstract

A closed-loop control system of the reversal parameter has been implemented in the RFX-mod machine on the basis of a model of the toroidal field system including the toroidal power supply circuit, with a description of the coupling with the plasma current and the local control of the power section. In the paper, after a description of the power supply model and the implemented closed-loop control, the outcome of the work will be reported by showing some experimental results on RFX-mod high current dedicated campaigns, with the feedback control system in operation. © 2011 Consorzio RFX Associazione Euratom ENEA Power Supply Group.
