Configuration of FA (Na) defects in KF crystals

The configuration of FA centres in KF:Na+ crystals has been studied by means of spectroscopic measurements. The FA(Na) dipoles are found to lie along the crystal axes, and this result is interpreted as the consequence of an on-centre position of the Na+ ions in the lattice of KF, in good agreement with theoretical expectations. © 1995, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
