The paper deals with the design and the realization of an induction system to heat the vacuum vessel of the RFX machine with and without the copper shell surrounding the vessel itself. Both electromagnetic and thermal finite element analyses have been carried out to establish the parameters of the induction winding. An acquisition system has been developed to manage all the measurement foreseen, namely of temperature, pressure, displacement, extension and electric such as voltage, current and power. © 2003 IEEE.
