Electricity and the grid

Maria Gaeta

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Electricity is an efficient energy vector that carries over long distances and has minimal impact at the place of end use. However, in order to accommodate the many localized and discontinuous production sources characterizing distributed generation, it will be increasingly necessary to adopt active and intelligent solutions in the electricity supply system. This is the notion that stands at the base of the development of smart grids, which will be briefly described. © Springer-Verlag London Limited 2012.
