Abstract

The share of fossil fuels in the energy balance of most countries is now predominant and will remain as such in the near future. The most important limit to the use of fossil fuels today derives from preoccupations with the environment and climate. The emission of greenhouse gases is evaluated and their influence on global climate is discussed. -Authors
