In this paper we introduce generalized Bessel functions of the Anger type (GAF) and discuss their properties and applications in the field of synchrotron radiation. We also present a numerical analysis and give results for some cases of specific interest. We finally study the properties of generalized Weber functions and their link to multivariable GAFs. © 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
