Abstract

The mechanism of phase transition of some intermetallic (magnetic) alloys from a crystal state to an amorphous state on heating in hydrogen atmosphere, the so called hydrogen induced amorphization (HIA), is not completely elucidated. We propose an explanation of this phenomenon in the frame of Quantum Electro Dynamics (QED) formalism. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications.
