Radiography is one of the main non destructive testing both for spreading and for easiness of interpetration. The 1971 year, with introduction of TAC (Computed Axial Tomography) in medical field, must be considered the born year for digital radiography. In this report we will be described the whole process of digital imaging and the relations between film process and real-time digital radiography; there more connections between conventional and digital radiography but it is necessary to know exactly what the operator can do with image processing to get results. It is well remember, as in same case it is possible obtain very good results but at same seeing image very far from original. Image processing can be very useful to see little difference in density, very small defects, to reduce eyes straining of inspector, or automatic analysis, corrosion in pipe lines. In conclusion, digital radiography and image processing can have an important role in nextfuture.
