Abstract

The way of lithiation of spinel cobalt oxide by solid state reaction of Li2CO3and Co3O4was investigated by electronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis. The results indicated that lithiation takes place only onto the surface of Co3O4particles, while lithium ions are not present in the bulk of the spinel oxide. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
