Low frequency behaviour of the infrared conductivity of Y1Ba2Cu3O7-x

Transmission and reflection measurements on Y1Ba2Cu3O7-x(YBCO) films in the normal state have been described by considering Drude and extra-Drude (ED) contributions to the YBCO optical conductivity σ(ν). In order to account for measurements extended down to 15 cm-1, it was necessary to include important ED components centered at low frequencies. The resulting σ(ν) has a maximum around 100 cm-1and then decreases for ν->0. In the present work we propose a model to account for this low frequency behaviour of σ(ν). The model is based on a simple correction to the usual Drude contribution; unusual huge ED components at low frequencies are thus avoided. © 1994.
