The acceptability of the ITER Test Modules (ITM) of the DEMO blankets selected in Europe to be developed, will be demonstrated using also Non Destructive Tests (NDT). The ITM will be manufactured using the same technological options proposed for the DEMO. Therefore, although the design in detail is not yet available, it is possible to analyse from the theoretical viewpoint the problems connected to NDT on the ITM. The problems can be related to three design areas: - materials - manufacturing technologies - geometry As these three areas are strictly correlated, they could not be treated separately, however, at the present stage of the design, a preliminary analysis of the problems can be carried on. ENEA is carrying on, within the European cooperation for the fusion, a R&D program to define the Quality Assurance principles for welds and NDT methods for the proposed ITM geometry.
