Permanent bleaching of F and F2 color centers in gamma irradiated lithium fluoride crystals has been obtained under low power, CW laser illumination at 244 nm. Optical absorption and photoluminescence measurements reveal a selective change in the concentrations of these kinds of electronic defects. © 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
