Abstract

Phase transition of pure and Li-doped CoO on slow cooling from 1300°C was investigated by x-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analyses. Lithium doping and sintering at 1300°C stabilize CoO against phase transition during cooling. Only a slight demixing of LixCO1-xO into LiCoO2 and Co3O4 was observed.
