Abstract

This paper is in continuation of the earlier research paper on an indirect type solar fruit and vegetable dryer [1]. The main objective of the present article is to discuss a preliminary economic analysis for the system reported above. It has been observed that the most significant economic parameters in the lifecycle costing analysis of the system are the payback period and internal rate of return. In addition, initial investment, fuel price, interest on fuel price, etc. are other important and most influential parameters on the system economics. © 1994.
