Pulse propagation in Optical-Klystron (OK) FEL oscillator devices has many analogies with that of ordinary FEL oscillators. The numerical analysis of the pulse propagation equation shows that self-reproducing structures of the supermode type exist and most of the relevant dynamics can be reproduced by means of simple scaling relations. © 2004 Elsevier B.V.
