A focus of research for future fusion machines is fast ions dynamics: Therefore the measurement of space and velocity distribution function of fast ions is a priority in diagnostics for a fusion reactor. Collective Thomson Scattering (CTS) is a technique for diagnosing plasma ions, planned for ITER in a configuration never tested.
