Solutions of Fokker-Planck-type equations and dynamical behaviour of electron beam in storage rings

Abstract

We use algebraic ordering methods to solve a general class of Fokker-Planck-type equations. We obtain analytical results yielding a straightforward and transparent understanding of physical processes governed by Fokker-Planck equations The method is finally applied to the analysis of the evolution of the longitudiual phase space of an e-beam circulating in a Storage Ring.
