Abstract

Emission and absorption intensities of F3+color centers in LiF crystals show unusual behaviours immediately after high power excitation. The existence of a triplet state has been proposed to explain their optical cycle which has been studied at various temperatures. In this work a detailed study of its dynamical characteristics is performed for the first time at 2 K and the triplet state has also been investigated with magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) measurements.
