Abstract

The results of spectroscopic measurements carried out after Tm 3H4 excitation are discussed. The underlying idea for this is the identification and evaluation of the main de-excitation mechanisms. For this purpose, visible and infrared luminescence spectra emitted by two Tm, Ho-doped VLF and YAG were recorded and measured. From these, three significant conclusions were achieved.
