Abstract

The full development of a multi-disks uranium target is described, including neutron production analysis, power deposition distributions, thermo-mechanical simulations and cooling schemes. A detailed material choice and a geometrical optimization were carried on in order to maximize the neutron production. Copyright © 2006 by ASME.
