The behaviour under irradiation of a single mode fiber heavily doped with germanium has been investigated at 0.85 μm and 1.3 μm under different irradiation temperatures in the range from -65°C to 60°C. The time behaviour of the recovery of the induced attenuation has been described using empirical equations, lor different temperatures. An nth order kinetics seems appropriate to describe the results and the order of kinetics has been determined at different temperatures. © 1992.
