It is shown that finite-difference schemes for integrating time-dependent, evolution-like differential equations can be implemented at any order of accuracy by means of Magnus-Fer time-ordering expansion. In the case of Liouville-type equations the approach described yields an approximant of the evolution operator which is symplectic at any order in time.
